BW House Finch on the Wire (Dry Brush filter)

I think I like the second one (without the Dry Brush) better than the first one. But... you try these things out and see how they go. Thanks for stopping by!

Bluebird in a Tree (Graphic Novel filter)

I decided to try processing this image only with Photoshop Elements. The third picture is the original edit from which I generated the two Graphic Novel filtered images. Thanks for stopping by!

Bluebird on the Branch (Graphic Novel filter)

The bluebird came out a little bit darker in this image than I would have liked, or maybe the head came out a little darker than I would have liked, especially in the Graphic Novel filter edits (the first two images). It came out dark in the HDR (3rd image), where I probably could have changed my settings to lighten the head up... Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Bluebird with a Branch (Graphic Novel filter)

I'm not sure if this was the same bluebird as the one that I posted yesterday or a different bluebird. It's the same tree, but I think that there were a few different bluebirds floating around the yard. Thanks for stopping by!

Bluebird on the Tree (Graphic Novel filter)

I managed to make quite a number of photos with the bluebird that was hanging out in the trees in my backyard. The photo set below is the black and white graphic novel image, the HDR color version layered into the BW Graphic Novel, and then the automatic edits applied to the color image. As I processed the image originally in Photomatix, I came out with a softer image, which is somewhat preserved in the first of the two color images below. While the automatic edit settings (color, contrast, etc.) darkened the image up a bit, it is perhaps not too much, although I still think I like the middle image best of the color versions. (I like the BW for the patterns produced by the Graphic Novel filter). Thanks for stopping by!

Rose-Breasted Grosbeak (Graphic Novel filter)

I had to chuckle when this bird showed up in my yard, a few days after a friend a few states south said that he had seen one. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Crab Apple Blossoms 2017 - 5 (Dry Brush filter)

I'm running out of crab apple blossom photos for this year. (The season came and went really fast as we started getting rain. Good for the farmers; not so good for my apple blossoms.) Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Crab Apple Blossoms 2017 - 4 (Dry Brush filter)

I thought that I would switch things up a little bit today and post an image that I processed with the Dry Brush filter. Thanks for stopping by!

Two Tulips (Graphic Novel filter)

I processed these images with the Photoshop's Graphic Novel filter. The first image is the "painted gray" setting. For the second image, I layered together some of Photoshop's default setting options. On the final image, I layered the HDR color image back into the first image. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Crab Apple Blossom Buds (Graphic Novel filter)

These buds had not quite opened yet when I took this picture. We have since had rain that has washed many of the petals off of the tree :( ... Well, as I say, enjoy it while it lasts. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Crab Apple Blossoms Return (Graphic Novel filter)

We're back to one of my favorite times of the year, when the crab apple blossoms start blooming on the tree in my yard. For some reason, my tree is a little behind the other trees in the area, some of which have already gone into full bloom (where mine is just starting.) I'll be running photos of some of the early bloomers over the next couple of days. Thanks for stopping by!

Captain Jack... (Sorry, Just a Chipping Sparrow - Graphic Novel filter)

I'm getting excited about the release of the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie (my favorites, so far, being 1 and 3, but I've enjoyed them all. In fact, I remember riding the ride at Disney World long before there was a Pirates movie.

The only connection today's photo has to any of the preceding is that the main character is a sparrow. It was eating the seeds that had fallen from the bird feeder. (I don't think I've ever seen the sparrow at the feeder. That seems to be more of a hangout for the different varieties of finches.)

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures!
