House Sparrow (Graphic Novel filter)

This is another second attempt post. As you can see from my cropped original, I didn't have much to work with on this photo.

Here was my first attempt with the Graphic Novel filter, a layered "hard edges" image. I really liked the grass, but not so much the bird.

I layered the color into the image. Not really impressed.

I tried a Graphic Novel preset. The bird is perhaps slightly better, but I'm not really a fan of the grass surrounding the bird.

And: Here's the colorized version. (I'm still not liking the grass in this edit.)

Sparrow in the Grass (Graphic Novel filter)

This image is one that I had processed before. This time, I tried it with AuroraHDR. I took my Aurora image over to Photoshop Elements and processed several different exposures of the Graphic Novel edit. I took these exposures back to the AuroraHDR program and... HDRed them together (image 2 below). Back in Photoshop Elements, I layered the top image into the second image for a colorized version (image 3 below.) Chipping Sparrow in a Shadow (Graphic Novel filter)

I liked the pose on this chipping sparrow. The problem was, as you see in the first image below, the bird has a nice shadow running right down the middle of it. 

Running the image through AuroraHDR with a bright preset, and the taking it over to the Graphic Novel filter on Photoshop Elements, the programs did a nice job of minimizing the shadow.

However, when I put the color back in...

Walking Sparrow (Imitating Godzilla?) (Graphic Novel filter)

Minus the tiny little flailing arms, the walking sparrow reminded me of Godzilla, except that it looks like a bird... and isn't green...
