In working up a stamp filtered image, I again found that processing the image first through Photomatix for the HDR effect gives Photoshop something more to "grab on to" when it stamp filters the image. The second image is darker and has lost much of the color of the original. However, I think that the pistils in the stamp filtered image stand out better than they do in the original.
