Walking Sparrow (Imitating Godzilla?) (Graphic Novel filter)

Minus the tiny little flailing arms, the walking sparrow reminded me of Godzilla, except that it looks like a bird... and isn't green...

Robin Looking at the Pavement (Graphic Novel filter)

The interest, for me, in this image was the separation between the concrete sidewalk on which the robin was... perched? ... and the asphalt of the parking lot. There's not simply a color difference (as in the color image below) but also in the lines as they were translated by the Graphic Novel filter. (The sidewalk seems to follow a more horizontal orientation, while the asphalt has a more vertical element to it.) Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Big-Eyed Bunny (Graphic Novel filter)

This rabbit had been eating, slowly lulling itself to sleep, when - it's eyes suddenly popped wide-open. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Crouching Bunny (Hidden Dragon?) Graphic Novel filter

Sorry, I couldn't resist. It is a crouching bunny. There is no hidden dragon. (Unless the bunny was Bunnicula!) Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Rabbit by the Evergreen (Graphic Novel filter)

This is another image that I double-processed with the Graphic Novel filter. The first image is my first pass (nice on details). The second has the color added to it. The third is my second pass on the graphic novel filter (the rabbit is a little more difficult to distinguish from the grass behind it.) The fourth is the colorized version of the third image. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Dark Woods Behind the Flicker on a Tree (Graphic Novel filter)

I wanted to keep the dark woods dark in the background of this image.

I also processed the image twice using the Graphic Novel filter from Photoshop Elements before layering the color back into the image.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

House Finch (Graphic Novel filter)

I ran my house finch photo through the Graphic Novel filter three times:

One Pass
At this stage, the image is still very realistic, though it does have some element of the "graphic novel" to it.

Two Passes
The image starts to pass from reality here into something more of a drawing.

Three Passes
The image has passed into abstraction, maybe appearing like something along the lines of a stained glass window.

Male Cardinal in the Woodchips (Graphic Novel filter)

I used the new update on AuroraHDR 2018 for this image. The saving interface is a little bit different and may take some getting used to. Today's image is a cardinal in the woodchips, which look less like woodchips in the black and white graphic novel version, but more so in the colorized version. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Female Cardinal with Flowers (Graphic Novel filter)

She was actually looking to dive past the flowers, but for that brief moment, she was looking at them. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

One Pass or Two? A Cardinal in a Graphic Novel Filter

After running my image through the AuroraHDR program, I then sent the image over to Photoshop Elements for the Graphic Novel filter. I liked the cardinal in this one, but I didn't so much like the grass in the background.

So, I sent the Graphic Novel filtered image through the filter a second time. I liked the grass somewhat better, and the cardinal is ok, though I think I liked it somewhat better in the first image.

I took my second image, layered in the colored image from the AuroraHDR, and...

those are my images for today. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Goldfinch and Colorful Bag (Graphic Novel filter)

I don't know what that colorful bag is, and I suspect that it's not really a colorful bag. Perhaps it's a hammock? Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Flying Goldfinch (Graphic Novel filter)

In titling this image, "Flying Goldfinch," I wanted to add the subtitle: How to do something (nice) with an unintentionally blurry photo. This seems to be the problem that I have with a lot of my images -- there's something wrong with them. My shutter speed wasn't quick enough to catch the details on this bird in flight. Other times, there is a weird sheen (usually produced by shooting behind a glass window). The Graphic Novel filter often produces an interesting effect, sometimes improving the image, and other times... not so much. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Goldfinches in Flight (Graphic Novel filter)

This goldfinches were taking off from a bird feeder. Not the greatest picture, but I like having caught them in motion. I also attempted doctoring the image up with the Graphic Novel filter. Not sure this one was a success. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Mourning Dove in a Tree (Graphic Novel filter)

I like the Graphic Novel filter. Sometimes, I like the Graphic Novel filter so well, I send an image through it twice. There's something in the Graphic Novel images that reminds me of van Gogh's Starry Night, or some of the Edvard Munch's Scream. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Cardinal in the Tree (Graphic Novel filter)

This is another one of my older images that I processed freshly with AuroraHDR, and then I created a Graphic Novel filter image, and layered the color into the Graphic Novel version. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)
