In the original image, I thought this goldfinch looked a little bit... well... thoughtful. I'm not quite so sure that the bird looked as thoughtful in the follow-up edits of the image. Maybe it has something to do with how I perceived the eye of the bird: it's distinctive in the first image, whereas, in the Graphic Novel edits that follow, the eye blended in with the black part of the bird's head.
