Joseph Wright "Church with a Tiled Roof and Tower" (Graphic Novel filter)

I was looking (online) through the sketchbook of Joseph Wright (from The Metropolitan Museum of Art,) where I later discovered the individual page for this building that was one of the better images from his sketchbook. Uvedale Tomkyns Price and Members of His Family (Graphic Novel filter)

From the The Metropolitan Museum of Art, "Uvedale Tomkyns Price and Members of His Family" is one of the more unusual family portraits that I have seen. The composition has various groups who seem to be doing their own thing, from the boy on the right with his dog all the way across to the girl on the left with the animated young man who is speaking to her in the background. The original background of the image is very much "in the shadows," where a good number of characters are found. (My first thought had been to try to take the picture apart, posting vignettes of the different pairings and couples, but I went ahead with the full portrait.) I processed the image with AuroraHDR and used the Graphic Novel filter from Photoshop Elements. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Woman with Fan by François Boucher (Graphic Novel filter)

The French title of this image from from the The Metropolitan Museum of Art, "Femme assise, de profil à droite, jouant de l'eventail," translates roughly to something about a woman sitting in profile with a fan. Woodland Scene with a Peasant, a Horse, and a Cart (Graphic Novel filter)

This "Woodland Scene" image by Thomas Gainsborough (from the The Metropolitan Museum of Art) had seen better days. I ran the original image through AuroraHDR, and -- seeing some damage spots become really pronounced in the image, I took it over to Corel Paintshop Pro -- which has a really nice "magic" tool that let's you lasso problem spots, which are 'magically' fixed to look like the surrounding parts of the image. It doesn't always work as I'd like, but it was really helpful in processing this image. I then took the result over to Photoshop Elements, where I used the Graphic Novel filter as per my usual process. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)
