Cat Looking Over Its Shoulder (Graphic Novel filter)

So, here are four different versions of the same picture. The first is an image that I cropped without processing on AuroraHDR.

The second was processed for HDR, using one of the presets.

Taking the image immediately above, I processed it with Photoshop Elements' Graphic Novel filter.

I then layered the first image into the third, used all sorts of preset edits for color, contrast, etc., and came up with the following.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Cat, Looking through the Window (Graphic Novel filter)

The more or less original cropped and edited image:

The Graphic Novel filtered version of the AuroraHDR image:

Black Cat in the Grass (Graphic Novel filter)

It was a blurry picture of a cat in the grass. Oddly, the eyes went white in the Graphic Novel filter edit. (Seems more appropriate to yesterday, Friday the 13th....) Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Cat Profile (AuroraHDR, Graphic Novel filter)

This cat started to stick its head into a photo of a different cat. I didn't notice it until I got to checking out the details in the image, and I said, "Wait a second. There's this other cat." I cut out the intruding cat in profile and... here it is for today's image. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Here's the original image, processed some time ago with Photomatix:

And here are the close-up, cropped images (processed first with AuroraHDR, and then with Photoshop's Graphic Novel filter.)

I accidentally also processed the preceding image, having gotten my files mixed up. I almost wonder if I don't like these edits better, except that the cat's head is more clipped in these images (edge of the picture).

Cat in the Grass, Napping (AuroraHDR, Graphic Novel filter)

This image was seriously cropped, but I think that I like how smaller images tend to turn out in the Graphic Novel filter. I like how there seems to be a stronger focus on the Graphic Novel details when you can look at an image close-up. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Cat Face (Graphic Novel filter)

I wanted to call this "unnecessary zoom on a cat," but decided against it. Cats roam our neighborhood and from time to time get close enough for a picture. This image, an older image, I processed with the Graphic Novel filter for its special drawn effect. Thanks for stopping by!

The Cat Came Back (Graphic Novel Filter)

Revisiting this cat photo with the graphic novel filter had the song going through my head.

You know which one.

"Oh... the cat came back, the very next day, oh, the cat came back..."

Thanks for stopping by!

Black Cat Redux (Graphic Pen filter)

I processed this cat image a while ago using the stamp filter. I thought I would give it a go with the graphic pen filter. One of the things that I discovered with the graphic pen filter is that there are directional controls - left diagonal, right diagonal, horizontal, and vertical. This image definitely seems to have a diagonal direction going with the bending of the tall grass being blown by the wind in the background. Thanks for stopping by!

Windy Cat

There's not too much to say here, except that... it was a windy day. And, there was a cat.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cat in the Yard (Dry Brush Filter)

We affectionately make reference to the neighborhood cats that wander into our yard as "kill traps". We wouldn't mind so much if they came to take out the squirrels. However, we are fairly certain that they are also interested in taking out the birds that we enjoy watching in our yard. (We once saw a neighborhood cat take out an injured rabbit; literally, it carried the rabbit away. Thankfully, we haven't see anything like that yet with the birds.)

Another Visit from a Wandering Neighborhood Cat

I think that the neighborhood cats are hoping to find some of the birds that take to the seeds on my deck. I have watched them stalk a few of the squirrels in my backyard, but, thankfully, I haven't found any piles of feathers yet.

Cat Asleep in front of Menacingly Dark Woods (Dry Brush Filter)

I was trying to take pictures of the cat, which was too far away for my lens to get a really good picture of it. This was obvious to me as I was looking at the images on my computer. What caught my interest, however, was the dark tree behind the sleeping cat, which I thought was kind of cool. It brings an ominous feeling to this picture with the cat sleeping in the foreground. Thanks for stopping by!

Here is another view when the cat lifted its head:

Cat in Profile (Dry Brush Filter)

Lately it's been fun to watch the cats come and stalk the squirrels in my yard. (They never actually come close to catching the squirrels, but it's fun to watch them. My fear is that they will go for the birds, which they will probably have a better chance of catching.) Here was one of the neighborhood cats, hanging out in my yard. Thanks for stopping by!

Cat Face

Once again, I found myself face-to-face with a local cat that was wandering in the neighborhood. Again, it's that time of year...

Stray Cats are Wandering the Neighborhood (Dry Brush Filter)

It doesn't take too much imagination to figure out what this cat was looking for, but I don't think that it found it here at my house. We've been seeing quite a few of these neighbor cats coming through our yard in the past several days.

Feline Visitor to my Deck (Dry Brush Filter)

This was one of those, "Hey, Dad! Look what's on our deck!" moments. I don't so much mind the cats that wander the neighborhood, although, I have heard that cats are not particularly good for those who enjoy bird watching... Thanks for stopping by!
