Squirrel, Unusual Pose (Graphic Novel filter)

My camera caught the squirrel, just as it was about to move. The pose in which it caught the squirrel was one of those gestures, that says something like - "I'm giving a speech," or as though it's putting its hand on its heart, or something like that. What it really was thinking about was trying to infiltrate the bird feeder that was located directly underneath of it....

Juvenile Robin on Deck (Graphic Novel filter)

This juvenile robin required a little bit of magic eraser to remove the dropping that it dutifully had left on the deck, adding a certain unwanted decoration to my picture. Thankfully, Corel's Paintshop Pro comes equipped with such an eraser, making the image... passable. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Graphic Novel Squirrel

So, the title of this post makes it sound like I've got some sort of super hero squirrel, which... I don't. But I did find a way to make a really cool effect. First, I made the very dark black and white graphic novel filtered image from the normal looking color image below. Then, I layered the colored version into the BW graphic novel filtered version at 40% opacity, and the image came out so in certain colors. I'm not quite sure how this happened, but it is kind of a cool effect, something with which I may keep tinkering in the future. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Dragonfly on a Stick (Graphic Novel Filter)

I happened to see a dragonfly the other day on my deck. It was in the middle of the day, and so the sun was creating some problematic white flares on the subject. That's when it finally occurred to me what the exposure setting was good for, and so I turned my exposure darker and... voila! Dragonfly.

These Goldfinches were my Peeps (Dry Brush Filter)

I was going to write that these goldfinches were my Peeps, because, in the original image, the goldfinch in front reminded me of the candy chicks that you see in stores around Easter time. But, then I changed the angle, and the bird didn't look like a Peeps anymore, so... perhaps I'm fickle when it comes to my Peeps. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures!
