More Crab Apple Bud Blossoms

I know it's the wrong time of year to be posting these kind of pictures, but I've been thinking of spring lately. (I know, I'll have a while to wait before spring really arrives.) I like the color in my HDR image (top), but I especially like the 3D effect in the bottom image. I layered together the top two images, but since I didn't like the way that the dark splotches stood out in the background, I went through and erased them. The effect makes the background seem further back, and the outlined flowers and branches in the foreground really seem to stand out.

Crab Apple Blossoms (HDR, Stamp Filter)

Anyone who has visited my blog before knows that I really like the crab apple blossoms that come out during the May/June time of the year. I decided to give it a go processing a crab apple blossom picture with the stamp filter, and I really like the black and white image that I produced. The colorized version is cool, too, looking like something out of a graphic novel.

Black and White and Red all over? (It's a Butterfly)

The butterfly, posing here on a wrought iron piece of metal work, caught my eye. The first image is the HDR processed image. The second is the stamp filtered image. The third image wiped out the background of the stamp filtered image, and the fourth has the color layered back in (60% opacity.) Thanks for stopping by!

I thought I would try to get the technical name for this butterfly, and when I google image searched this image, the resulting page came back and told me that it was... a butterfly.
