A house wren stopped by the... house, and it didn't really want to cooperate in posing for a picture while facing me, so I called this one "House Wren Looking Away". Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Goldfinches on Edge (Graphic Novel filter)
To shake up what would otherwise be a normal picture, turn it on edge. (Either tilt your camera, or take care of it in editing.) The sloping terrain in the tilted image below gives a certain kind of 'falling energy' to the image, which would be totally missing in a flat scene. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures!

Woods and Water (Dry Brush, Graphic Novel Filters)
For lack of a better description, I went with woods and water for these photos. I probably could have gone woods, water, and snow, as this was taken originally back when winter was fading into spring. Thanks for stopping by!

Tall Grass and Water (HDR)
For today's photo, I decided to do a straight-up HDR photo of grass and water. Nothing too fancy. Thanks for stopping by!

Blue Jay Turned (Graphic Novel filter)
This is the same Blue Jay as yesterday, on the same wire, only facing the other direction.
Thanks for stopping by!

Blue Jay with Evening Colors (Graphic Novel filter)
This Blue Jay (or one just like him) had been hanging around in my back yard for a while, but every time I would get out my camera, he would fly away. (Maybe a little bit skittish.) I managed to catch him on the overhead wire, and I processed the image in HDR before running it through the Graphic Novel filter. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures! :)

Female Goldfinch at the Feeder (Graphic Novel filter)
Having filled my feeder, I'm happy to see all sorts of birds returning. Today's bird picture is a female American Goldfinch. The HDR really brought out her yellow color, which was tempered by layering it into the Graphic Novel filtered bw image at a lower opacity. Thanks for stopping by and looking at my pictures!
